Description
Kaiser Permanente Georgia is seeking a part time Wellness Coach to join our Health Education team. This position supports members through individualized virtual and telephone coaching focused on sustainable health behavior change.
The Wellness Coach partners with members to identify health priorities, set achievable goals, develop action plans, and address barriers to success. Areas of support may include healthy eating, physical activity, stress management, weight management, tobacco cessation, and other lifestyle related goals. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to use motivational interviewing and behavior change strategies to help members build confidence and make meaningful progress.
Schedule: Part time, 20 hours per week
Hours: Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Location: Kaiser Permanente Georgia, with services primarily delivered virtually and by telephone
Ideal candidates will have experience in health and wellness coaching, health education, motivational interviewing, or behavior change support and enjoy working collaboratively within a member centered healthcare environment.
Requirements
Candidates should have:
- Experience providing health and wellness coaching, health education, or behavior change support
- Strong skills in motivational interviewing, goal setting, and supporting sustainable behavior change
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport in a virtual or telephone setting
- Ability to independently manage scheduled coaching appointments and complete timely documentation
- Comfort using technology to provide virtual services and document member interactions
- Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare and Health Education partners and appropriately connect members with additional resources when needs fall outside the coaching scope
- Availability to consistently work Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Preferred: National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach, NBC HWC, or candidates working toward certification.
Final minimum education and experience requirements will align with Kaiser Permanente’s official job classification and requisition.
