Description
The Tennessee State Museum is seeking a Volunteer Manager to develop and oversee daily operations of a volunteer program. This is a new program and role that will supervise and support volunteers, providing direction, coordination, and consultation for all volunteer functions. This role ensures that volunteers are effectively prepared and aligned to create a welcoming and educational experience for all visitors to the Tennessee State Museum (TSM). Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with staff to establish a formal volunteer program and develop a comprehensive volunteer handbook.
- Identify, implement, and manage volunteer management software that meets Museum needs.
- Coordinate and conduct volunteer orientations, training sessions, and ongoing support.
- Lead recruitment, motivation, recognition, retention, supervision, and overall planning for volunteer engagement.
- Ensure sufficient volunteer staffing across Museum operations to support the Museum’s mission and visitor experience.
