At Pet Emergency Treatment (PET), you'll do more than practice advanced critical care medicine, you'll have the opportunity to build and shape a growing Critical Care service in one of the most unique veterinary markets in the country. We're seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Criticalist who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care while helping establish and expand critical care services in Alaska.

As Alaska's premier emergency and specialty hospital, PET offers a rare opportunity to practice in a market with little competition and significant demand for advanced specialty care. You'll join a collaborative team that includes five experienced emergency veterinarians and the only boarded Internal Medicine specialist in the state of Alaska. Together, our team is committed to providing the highest level of medicine while fostering a supportive, team-oriented culture built on collaboration, respect, and continuous learning.

PET provides 24-hour emergency care to pets throughout Anchorage and remote Alaskan communities, serving as a vital resource for animals across the state. As we develop our Critical Care service, you'll have the opportunity to help shape protocols, influence equipment purchases, and collaborate with hospital leadership on scheduling and service development. This is an exciting opportunity for a clinician who wants to be involved in building something meaningful while being fully supported by an established emergency and specialty team.

Our hospital remains committed to technological advancement and patient care excellence. We utilize advanced diagnostic and interventional equipment including a GE Logiq ultrasound system, Storz HD endoscopy, a Siemens SOMATOMgo 32-slice CT scanner, digital radiography, and an in-house fluoroscopy suite that supports a variety of interventional procedures.

In your day-to-day, you will:

• Manage high-acuity emergency and ICU patients, including triage and stabilization.
• Lead or participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to protocol development.
• Perform advanced therapies and critical care procedures utilizing the hospital's advanced diagnostic and interventional capabilities.
• Support the development and growth of the Critical Care service as a key clinical leader.
• Engage in ongoing CE and mentorship opportunities through the Ethos network.
• Work closely with emergency veterinarians, specialists, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.

What You Bring

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for Alaska veterinary licensure.
• Board Certification in Emergency & Critical Care (DACVECC) or residency-trained in Emergency & Critical Care.
• Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.
• A passion for continuous learning, teamwork, and advancing specialty medicine.
