Living in Rochester and the Finger Lakes
Rochester offers an appealing combination of affordability, accessibility, and quality of life in the heart of New York’s Finger Lakes region. The area offers four distinct seasons and easy access to lakes, trails, kayaking, museums, community events, and outdoor recreation.
Whether you prefer city living, established suburbs, lake communities, or more rural areas with acreage, the Rochester region provides a wide range of options, often within an easy commute of the hospital. The Finger Lakes, wineries, state parks, and numerous waterfront communities are close by, while Niagara Falls makes for an easy day or weekend trip.
For veterinarians considering relocation from larger Northeast markets, Rochester can offer significantly more room to live while maintaining access to the cultural, educational, healthcare, and recreational amenities of an established metropolitan area.
