Description
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional to support the firm’s valuation and financial modeling processes. This role will focus on executing and maintaining investment valuation models, supporting firm-wide planning and reporting, and ensuring consistency, accuracy, and timeliness across all outputs. The successful candidate will work closely with the valuations and finance teams in a fast-paced private markets environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Valuations
- Conduct valuations of individual portfolio investments (primarily private debt instruments), ensuring accuracy and alignment with executed agreements, internal policies and industry standards.
- Execute, maintain and update financial models largely focused on discounted cash flow.
- Support fund-level reporting and valuation consolidation processes.
- Perform return, sensitivity, and scenario analyses to assess performance and risk.
- Prepare valuation reports, memos, and supporting documentation.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Develop and maintain integrated financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-termstrategic planning across the firm and its managed funds.
- Update and maintain consolidated internal performance reporting using internal valuation models.
- Support the execution of hedging transactions, including tracking hedge positions, monitoringeffectiveness, and supporting execution and reporting of interest rate and FX hedging strategies.
- Prepare and maintain budget models and perform budget-to-actual review, providing actionableinsights to senior management.
- Partner with accounting, investment, and treasury teams to ensure consistency between financial reporting and forecasts.
Requirements
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Fluency in both spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate financial information.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Holder of a CPA, CFA or CBV designation is an asset.
- Advanced Excel modeling skills, with a strong understanding of valuation methodologies and financial statement analysis. Capable of creating financial models from scratch.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to manage and prioritize tasks independently in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
- Independent and analytical by nature, thriving in roles that require deep focus, critical thinking, and the ability to work autonomously while maintaining accuracy in all aspects of work.
- Dependable and punctual, with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.
