Description
The Elementary Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality academic instruction in a Christ-centered learning environment for elementary-aged students. This role includes supporting the spiritual, academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development of all students, including those who may require additional support, accommodations, or individualized attention. The teacher is expected to maintain a classroom atmosphere that reflects Christian values, promotes academic growth, and fosters a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment.

Primary Responsibilities
The Elementary Teacher shall:
- Provide instruction in core academic subjects, including reading, language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies
Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with the school’s curriculum and academic standards - Maintain a positive, orderly, and productive classroom environment that supports student learning and Christian character development
- Teach and guide students with varying academic, behavioral, emotional, and developmental needs, including students who may require additional support or classroom accommodations
- Work patiently and effectively with students with special needs, learning differences, or behavioral challenges, while helping maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment
- Collaborate with administration, parents, therapists, and support staff, as applicable, to help ensure students receive appropriate support within the classroom setting
- Implement classroom strategies, redirection, and accommodations as directed or approved by the school for students with specific learning or behavioral needs
- Monitor student progress regularly and communicate concerns, growth, and needs in a timely and professional manner
Assess student learning through classwork, quizzes, tests, projects, observations, and other appropriate methods - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of attendance, grades, student progress, and other required documentation
- Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding academic performance, behavior, and classroom expectations
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences, staff meetings, training sessions, and school events as required
- Supervise students during assigned duties, including arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, chapel, and special activities, as needed
- Prepare classroom materials and maintain an organized, safe, and welcoming learning environment
- Support school programs, activities, fundraisers, and special events as requested by administration
Model Christian conduct in speech, attitude, dress, and behavior both on and off campus
Spiritual Expectations The Elementary Teacher is expected to:
- Demonstrate a personal Christian testimony and lifestyle consistent with the values of the school
- Uphold and support the school’s statement of faith, mission, and biblical standards
- Serve as a spiritual role model for students through daily example
- Lead or participate in prayer, devotions, chapel, and other faith-based activities as assigned
