Pine Canyon Country Club is excited to announce the career opportunity of Swim Instructor. Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior service to the clubs managed by Troon.

Organizing and coaching daily swim practices and meets.

Essential Duties:

• Supervises and observes swimmers at all times to ensure their safety.
• Assists in organizing clinics and private swimming lessons for members as directed by the department manager.
• Coaches practices as directed by the Aquatics Director
• Enforces the rules of conduct.
• Communicated with parents and swimmers regarding progress and improvement.
• Maintains all necessary records determined by the department manager.
• Conducts 1 on 1 swim lessons for children with a minimum age of 3, as well as teens and adults as needed.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:

Frequently uses hands, talks and hears. Regularly stands and sits. Occasionally walks, reaches with hands and arms, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls, tastes or smells. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

Environment/Noise:

Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather); near fumes or airborne particles, and near toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level is moderate.

Certificates/Licenses:

CPR, First Aid Certification, various Water Safety/Instructor Certifications

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:

Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).

Previous swim instruction experience preferred. ASCA certification preferred.
