- Staff Attorney (Exempt/Non-Civil Service)
Description
The Office of Council Services (OCS) is the legislative research and drafting office for the Honolulu City Council. Primary duties of the staff attorney include analyzing City, State, and federal laws; drafting bills, resolutions, and legal memoranda; and providing legal advice for Council committees. The attorney will work closely with Councilmembers, Council staff, the City Clerk's office, and other OCS staff.
About the position: Full-time. Salary range is from $78,120 to $110,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include healthcare, retirement, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave, and parking for a nominal fee. Requirements
Minimum requirements: Active Hawaii State Bar license; three years of experience in law or a relevant government-related field; excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills; proficiency in office computing programs; experience with online legal research databases; and the ability to function as a nonpartisan professional. Legislative experience is preferred.
