Skills and Competencies
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in banking, with deep expertise in balance sheet management, lending, credit, or risk disciplines
- Direct experience within risk, lending, treasury, or similar functions in a bank or credit union environment
- Proven ability to communicate complex banking concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong executive presence with experience engaging senior stakeholders, executive committees, and boards of directors
- Experience supporting or leading complex, consultative sales engagements and solution positioning
- Familiarity with banking software platforms and data-driven financial solutions
- Ability to operate independently in a senior, client-facing role with a high degree of autonomy
- Working knowledge of generative AI applications within financial services, with interest in responsible AI adoption and risk management
Education
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree strongly valued
Responsibilities
The Banking Industry Practice Lead serves as a senior subject matter expert, driving client impact, sales effectiveness, thought leadership, and product innovation across the Americas by translating deep industry expertise into actionable insights and strategic outcomes.
- Serve as the Banking Industry Practice Lead, leveraging deep domain expertise to support client engagement, solution adoption, and business growth
- Establish credibility and confidence in Moody's solutions through thought leadership, industry engagement, and direct participation in sales activities
- Identify client needs and lead solution architecture efforts in partnership with sales, product, and strategy teams
- Act as a trusted advisor by providing best practices, strategic insights, and technical guidance to customers
- Design and execute market outreach and go-to-market strategies in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders, representing Moody's at conferences and events
- Translate market trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory developments into actionable product and strategy insights
- Support internal enablement, including training, coaching, and development of sales and customer-facing teams
About the Team
The Global Sales operating unit is comprised of more than 1,000 sales and customer service professionals supporting clients across banking, insurance, asset management, corporates, professional services, and government sectors in over 50 countries. The Industry Practices team is made up of experienced subject matter experts from industry, consulting, and regulatory backgrounds who work closely with sales to deepen customer relationships and with product and strategy teams to ensure Moody's solutions continue to evolve in alignment with market needs and emerging industry trends.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $200,300.00 - $290,450.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody's also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
