Description
The Ascension House is an emergency shelter for men and women in Attleboro, Massachusetts that is staffed 24 hours a day. The shelter provides a comprehensive range of supportive services, including case management, housing support, workforce development training, financial planning, and access to mental health referrals and other needed services. The Ascension House is committed to helping individuals secure the community resources needed to secure housing, employment and long-term sustainability. The goal of Ascension House is to help our clients gain long-term sustainability while working on the current issues that have led to their homelessness.
The Shelter Manager will exhibit positive leadership while supervising staff and oversee all programmatic functions including, but not limited to, program compliance, regulations/guidelines, hours of operation and required documentation. This position will provide supportive services to all activities related to daily operations and promote agency culture, learning, respect and dignity.
Requirements
BA/BS, or equivalent degree in Human Services preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience providing direct care services and community outreach to homeless individuals.
Experience working with mental health issues, and substance use
Possess considerable initiative, judgment, creativity, enthusiasm and leadership
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Computer skills with the ability to perform daily tasks within Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
A reliable, insured vehicle and valid driver’s license required
Bi-lingual helpful
