Description
Vitreoretinal Surgeon — Join Me at Desert Retina | Las Vegas / Henderson, NV
Independent. Physician-owned.
I'm a fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon looking for an energetic retina specialist to build a practice alongside me at Desert Retina — a high-energy, forward-thinking, physician-owned group serving the Las Vegas Valley. We have two modern offices near the sought-after suburbs of Summerlin and Henderson, an easy 35 minutes apart.
This is rare in the retina world today: a growing practice not owned by private equity or a corporate consolidator. That means the job can be shaped around the surgeon you want to become and the life you want to live.
Focus on patient care — design your own practice
Choose your pace: a high-volume practice you can ramp into quickly, or a lifestyle-forward one with lighter call. We'll flex the coverage to fit you, not the other way around.
You concentrate on becoming an excellent surgeon and clinician. We provide the support and flexibility that lets you do your best work:
State-of-the-art imaging, lasers, and surgical equipment across all locations
Strong, experienced clinical support staff
AI and virtual-assistant tools that take the documentation burden off your plate, so your time goes to patients and the OR — not the EMR
Robust surgical caseload and a deep, established referral base across the valley, with the full range of medical and surgical retina pathology
As much mentorship as you'd like from an established surgeon who is genuinely invested in your growth
Minimal travel and no hospital call duties
Compensation designed to beat corporate — without the red tape
I'm prepared to exceed what the private-equity groups in this market are offering, and to structure it in ways they typically won't:
A strong, competitive salary guarantee, with real production upside as you grow
Generous sign-on bonus
Full Benefits including 401k, medical/dental, CME stipend, malpractice coverage
A monthly stipend paid during your final fellowship year — support that starts before your first day, when it actually helps
No Nevada state income tax — a meaningful bump to your real take-home compared to California, New York, and most competing offers
We'll talk through the specifics directly and tailor the package to what matters most to you.
Life in Las Vegas — and help settling in
Las Vegas has quietly become one of the country's most livable and fastest-growing cities: year-round sunshine, no state income tax, world-class dining and outdoor access, and a cost of living far below the coasts. The valley is home to nearly 2.5 million residents and welcomes more than 40 million visitors a year, and Harry Reid International Airport makes travel effortless. On a free weekend you can drive to the California coast, the Grand Canyon, or the red-rock national parks of Utah.
If you're relocating with family, we'll help you get settled — including personalized guidance on schooling and education for your kids. This is a family joining a family, not an employee joining a company.
