Trane Technologies is hiring a Production Planner in Grand Rapids, MI. In this role, you will, establish, manage, and maintain the production schedule for a selected group of products. This role will act as single point of contact with the plant for all customer accounts, managing the entire order life cycle to ensure orders are processed on time, and collaborate with other functional teams to ensure customer's expectations and requirements are met. The position reports to the Master Scheduler.
Establishes production manufacturing priorities for the customer demand consistent with master scheduling requirements, inventory objectives, and service level goals.
Perform order entry for configure to order business model.
Reconciles all order discrepancies and order changes.
Communicate with sales offices, engineering, purchasing, and operations to ensure customer priorities are met and leverage common processes, tools, and information systems.
Assists in the development of weekly and monthly metrics, which include on-time shipment %, productivity, shipment goals, past due backlog, and assembly production.
Request support from the next appropriate level of customer support for escalations / issues, providing documentation throughout the process.
Establish and communicate revised production schedules based on weekly PSI meetings
Coordinates manufacturing activities and monitors schedule performance against plan.
Participate in customer service-related projects such as Strategy A3, Projects & MDI (daily meetings).
Assist in and support the development of process improvements and continuous learning.
Attend / host daily standup meetings in production environments.
Host meetings for production coordination
Other duties as assigned by master scheduler.
Qualifications:
Associate or bachelor's degree preferred or 4+ years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree. High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or customer service.
Experience with production scheduling preferred
Oracle/ERP preferred
Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) required. Advanced excel skills preferred.

Ability to effectively make decisions with limited time and information and determine decision making criteria based on priorities.
Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
Strong analytical capabilities
Data access/retrieval skills with experience in data analysis, data manipulation using MS Excel and/or other tools as provided.
Must have the ability to identify problems, make recommendations and recognize when to alert.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
