Babcock National Golf Club, located in Punta Gorda, FL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a part-time Prep Cook! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. Responsibilities:

• Follows recipes and/or product directions for proper food preparation
• Maintains quality control for all products, including monitoring the freshness of the product daily
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or cart
• Prepares appropriate equipment for cooking
• Operates kitchen utensils and/or equipment used for weighing, measuring, mixing, washing, peeling, cutting, grinding, stirring, straining, slicing, assembling, and kneading of food products
• Ensures proper food handling procedures are followed, including wrapping, labeling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating, and checking the temperature of products
• Receives and inventories food and beverage products and supplies
• Cleans and sanitizes the workstation and equipment.
• Ability to perform any other duties as assigned by the Department Manager

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:

• Frequently stands, uses hands, talks, hears, tastes, and smells.
• Regularly walks and reaches with hands and arms.
• Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
• Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds.

Environment/Noise:

• Regularly works in extreme heat (non-weather) and near moving mechanical parts.
• Occasionally works in extreme cold (non-weather), wet or humid conditions (non-weather), near toxic or caustic chemicals, and in outdoor weather.
• Noise level is moderate.

Certificates/Licenses:

• Food Safety and Sanitation Training

• The ability to read and speak English may be required to perform the duties of the job (e.g., associates may need to communicate with English-speaking customers or coworkers, and the manuals for the equipment they use are in English).
