Portfolio Finance Trader, APAC

We are partnering with a leading global investment firm seeking an experienced Portfolio Finance Trader to join its APAC team. The role will focus on optimizing equity financing, strengthening prime broker relationships and supporting the efficient deployment of capital across regional investment strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee equity financing activities across APAC, including stock borrow pricing, locate availability, inventory allocation and prime broker utilization.
• Build strong relationships with regional prime brokers and negotiate financing terms and tailored borrowing arrangements.
• Monitor recalls and stock availability, proactively identifying and managing potential borrow risks.
• Assess financing implications arising from corporate actions, special situations and market events.
• Collaborate with investment and research teams to understand strategy requirements and identify opportunities to increase trading capacity.
• Enhance internal reporting and analytical tools covering financing costs, P&L attribution and resource allocation.
• Evaluate FX exposure, margin requirements and funding considerations to improve capital efficiency.
• Monitor changes in APAC market structure and regulations, translating relevant developments into practical financing solutions.

Candidate Profile

• 3+ years of relevant experience across portfolio finance, Delta One, securities lending, stock loan or a related trading function.
• Good understanding of equity financing, securities borrowing and cash or liquidity management.
• Strong communication skills, with confidence managing and negotiating with external counterparties.
• Proficiency in Python or another programming language for data analysis and workflow automation.
• Mandarin language capability would be an advantage.
