Major Gifts and Donor Engagement Contractor
Location: Remote in Arizona.
Reporting Relationship: Receives direction from the Fundraising Committee regarding goals, priorities, and deliverables.
Type and Term: Independent contractor. Twelve-month, project-based contract. If funding allows, Just Schools may offer the opportunity to transition into a full-time employee role.
Compensation: $5000 per month for completion of contract deliverables. The contractor is not eligible for employee benefits, and is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, equipment, and business expenses.

The Opportunity
Just Schools seeks a seasoned fundraising professional to drive major donor cultivation and high-net-worth engagement as an independent contractor who is able to increase unrestricted revenue in a politically complex climate.
This is not a grant writing or database management role. This is a relationship-building role.
You will work closely with the Board President, Treasurer, Executive Committee, and Statewide Organizer.
Scope of Work: Major Gifts and Donor Development
Identify, research, and qualify high-capacity individual prospects
Develop cultivation and stewardship plans for top prospects
Conduct donor outreach, meetings, cultivation, and stewardship
Work with board to close gifts and steward donors through thoughtful and sustained follow-up
Open doors to aligned philanthropic individuals and networks
Deliverables
Development of major gifts program
Identified major donor pipeline of values-aligned donors who reflect the communities we serve
Individualized plans for top prospects and donors
Support with relationship-building communications
Measurable increase in major donor commitments
Twice monthly check-in regarding donor and prospect activity and next steps
Requirements
Qualifications
5+ years experience in major gifts or high-net-worth fundraising
Demonstrated track record closing five-figure and six-figure gifts
Existing relationships in Arizona, California, or national progressive philanthropic networks preferred
Comfort fundraising in politically charged environments
Strong relationship builder who can operate independently
Deep alignment with education justice and anti-racist LGBTQ+ equity
Residency in Arizona
