Description

St. John School District is seeking a dependable, team-oriented, and caring individual to serve as a Long-Term Substitute Assistant Cook. This temporary position provides essential support to our Food Services Program by helping prepare and serve nutritious meals in a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment. The assignment fills a long-term leave and works under the direction of the Food Services Director.

Requirements

Assist with the daily operation of the school kitchen and cafeteria.
Prepare and cook food according to approved menus, standardized recipes, and portion requirements.
Ensure food is prepared, held, and served safely following USDA, OSPI, and local health department regulations.
Set up serving areas and provide courteous meal service to students, staff, and guests.
Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment while maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment.
Assist with inventory, stocking, food deliveries, production records, and meal documentation.
Support food preparation for field trips, school activities, and special events as needed.
Operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
Attend required training and maintain professional, respectful interactions with students, staff, families, and community members.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
