Description
The Lead Manufacturing Engineer is a subject matter expert responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance production capabilities and support product development.
Essential Functions:
- Support the production team by troubleshooting equipment and process issues.
- Lead the development of process documentation, including work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Conduct analysis of production data to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product introductions and process enhancements.
- Significant contribution to the setup and calibration of manufacturing equipment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing and Six Sigma projects.
- Develop manufacturing strategies for specific products and processes.
- Actively participate with engineering project teams to coordinate the release of new products.
- Estimate and track manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.
- Defines, develops and transfers manufacturing and engineering tools, strategies and systems.
- Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.
- Develops, implements and analyzes manufacturing engineering plans and projects and communicates them to internal and external customers.
Position Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field with 9+ years related experience.
- Masters Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field with 7+ years related experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of automation and process improvement tools
- Strong project management skills utilizing microsoft project
