Position Summary:
The Tech Support Intern provides entry-level technical support and assists the IT team with day-to-day operations across Fathom's multi-site manufacturing and corporate environments. This role offers firsthand exposure to enterprise IT systems and service desk operations while supporting users under the guidance of senior IT staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-level support for hardware, software, and basic network issues.
- Assist in resolving service desk tickets including password resets and device setup.
- Support users across office and production environments.
- Assist with device provisioning, inventory, and asset tracking.
- Support Microsoft 365 user setup and troubleshooting
- Follow IT security policies and report concerns.
- Collaborating with IT team and participating in training
- Lead several small projects for the IT Operations Team related to network documentation, asset inventorying, knowledge base population, and AD clean-up.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
- Basic understanding of hardware, operating systems, and networking
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 preferred
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Good communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to IT ticketing systems
- Basic knowledge of Active Directory or Azure
- Interest in manufacturing or industrial IT environments
- Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals
- Basic troubleshooting experience with Windows 10/11
Education Background:
- Currently enrolled in, recently completed, or pursuing coursework in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Networking, or a related technical field preferred
