Overview

The role of the Golf Services Manager will be to assist the Director of Golf, Head Golf Professional, and Assistant Golf Professional in the day-to-day operations at The Peninsula Club. Responsible for managing and training the outside operations staff and locker room attendants to ensure the highest levels of service for the members, and the job duties are completed to the expectation level of the professional staff and members.

The Golf Service Manager is to contribute to the attainment of the members' overall enjoyment of the club and the game of golf. This is done by engaging members at every possible chance with a great attitude, being personable, and implementing standard operating procedures set in place by Peninsula Club Management.

Essential Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work five days totaling 40-45 hours per week during peak season (March-November) and 32-40 hours per week in off-season months
• With support from professional staff, lead efforts for staff recruiting including but not limited to conducting interviews and assist with the onboarding of new hires for positions including locker room, bag room, and starters
• Maintain and update current lists of member bag storage and locker rooms including billing in conjunction with golf professional staff
• Maintain cart fleet including cleanliness standards, coordination with outside service company, and any downed or inoperable carts
• Making sure we have all resources needed to properly manage the outside operation including: scorecards, pencils, cleaning supplies and any day-to-day supplies
• Work in conjunction with Facilities to ensure we have all the resources needed to properly manage the locker room operation including but not limited to shoe cleaning supplies and toiletries
• Establish processes for the Men's Locker Room.
• Delegation of daily tasks while staff on duty
• Create an accurate schedule based on operational needs that is delivered in a timely fashion

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage, support and assist Assistant Outside Operations Manager(s), Outside Operations Supervisor(s), and Bag Room Attendants
• Create and implement policies and procedures for training current staff and new hires.
• Coach and monitor the outside bag staff/rangers/starters
• Disciplinary action when needed
• Ensure staff is adhering to grooming standards set in place by the club

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
• Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
• Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position.
• Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping and pulling.
• Frequent repetitive motions.
• Continuous standing and walking.
