OverviewFounded in 1987, Old Marsh is the product of the genius golf course designer, Pete Dye. Nestled in a strikingly beautiful wetlands preserve, Old Marsh Golf Club is a private gated community and is listed among America's Greatest Golf Courses. In 2016, the golf course was renovated and naturally, the project was overseen by Pete Dye and the Dye family. The pristine wetlands and wildlife remain untouched and preserved. The experience at Old Marsh is enhanced by a first-class professional management and service staff, as well as its philosophy of recognizing and exceeding member and guest expectations.
Essential Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Director of Golf, this position plays a key role in supporting all aspects of daily golf operations, delivering an exceptional member and guest experience, and assisting in the execution of tournament programming and club events.
This individual works closely with our Merchandise Manager and Outside Operations team to ensure a seamless and consistent golf experience reflective of the standards of a premier private club.
Qualifications & Experience
-Minimum of three (3) years of experience in golf operations at a private club or comparable facility.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and confidently with members, guests, and staff at all levels.
-Exceptional organizational, administrative, and time-management abilities with strong attention to detail.
-Proficiency in golf management systems, including tee sheet software, GHIN, and point-of-sale platforms.
-Demonstrated ability to prioritize responsibilities, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records in a fast-paced environment.
-Professional appearance, demeanor, and conduct consistent with the standards of an elite private club.
Essential Responsibilities
Golf Operations
-Serve as the primary point of contact for members and guests in the absence of the Director of Golf, consistently providing personalized and anticipatory service.
-Maintain a strong presence throughout the Golf Shop, practice facilities, and golf course to ensure a high level of member engagement and operational awareness.
-Perform daily Golf Shop opening and closing procedures, including reconciliation of petty cash.
-Communicate regularly with the Director of Golf regarding operational priorities, member feedback, and staff performance.
-Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards of the Golf Shop, office, and storage areas.
-Assist in scheduling Assistant Golf Professionals and assigning daily operational responsibilities to ensure efficient workflow and service execution.
-Hard Goods Coordinator with emphasis on scheduling a robust list of vendor fitting days & showcases as well as management of the hard goods/equipment inventory.
Tournament & Member Programming
-Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of all club tournaments, member events, and golf programming.
-Maintain tournament documents and ensure accurate records for all events.
-Assist in the preparation and distribution of membership communication emails.
-Coordinate tournament registration and monitor all aspects of member event administration.
-Maintain and oversee the Club's GHIN handicap system and related reporting functions.
-Communicate tournament information, important dates, and course closure notices to members and guests in a timely and professional manner.
Collaborative Responsibilities
-Work closely with the Merchandise Manager to support golf shop merchandising, inventory management, fitting events, apparel promotions, and visual display standards.
-Assist with receiving, tagging, and displaying merchandise to maintain a polished retail presentation.
-Coordinate with Outside Operations staff to ensure all points of contact are ready for the day.
-Contribute positively to the overall culture, professionalism, and service standards of Old Marsh Golf Club.
A successful candidate will maintain a high visibility standard as well be extremely detail oriented.
Start date is negotiable.
