Description
About the role
Are you an experienced Financial Planner looking for a role where client outcomes genuinely come before profits?
At APS Financial Planning, we've been helping Australians for more than 120 years as part of a profit-for-purpose organisation. Our focus has always been on doing what's right for our members and clients, regardless of their financial situation. If you're passionate about building long-term relationships, providing quality advice and making a real difference in people's lives, we'd love to hear from you.
We're looking for an experienced Financial Planner to join our growing team in West Melbourne. You'll work alongside our existing advisers, looking after a mix of established clients and new referrals. Rather than chasing sales targets, you'll have the opportunity to focus on delivering personalised advice that helps clients achieve their financial goals.
What you'll be doing
You'll work closely with clients to develop tailored financial strategies covering investments, superannuation, retirement planning, insurance and wealth protection.
You'll provide ongoing advice and reviews, building trusted long-term relationships through regular contact and excellent service.
You'll identify opportunities to help clients with additional financial planning needs and work collaboratively with colleagues across the APS Group to ensure clients receive the support they need.
You'll stay up to date with changes to financial markets, legislation and industry regulations, while ensuring all advice meets compliance requirements and professional standards.
You'll also contribute to a collaborative team environment where ideas, knowledge and experience are shared.
What we're looking for
You'll ideally have:
An Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning (or equivalent qualification).
At least 3-5 years' experience as a Financial Planner or in a similar advice role.
Strong technical knowledge across investments, superannuation, retirement planning and personal insurance.
The ability to explain complex financial concepts in a simple, practical way.
Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple client relationships.
Experience using financial planning software and Microsoft Office.
A genuine commitment to professional development, compliance and delivering high-quality advice.
Most importantly, you'll enjoy helping people and take pride in putting clients first.
Why join APS Financial Planning?
We're proud to offer something a little different. As part of a profit-for-purpose organisation with more than 120 years of history, our success isn't measured by product sales or shareholder returns—it's measured by the difference we make to our clients.
We offer competitive remuneration, ongoing professional development and the opportunity to work alongside an experienced and supportive team. Our culture is built around a simple philosophy: have fun while we get the job done. We believe people do their best work when they're supported, trusted and have a healthy work-life balance.
About us
APS Financial Planning is part of the APS Benefits Group, a benevolent society that has been supporting Australians since 1905. Our financial planning team provides personalised advice across wealth creation, retirement planning, superannuation, insurance and estate planning. We believe every client deserves advice that's in their best interests, delivered with honesty, professionalism and care.
As our business continues to grow, we're looking for another adviser who shares those values and wants to be part of a team that's making a genuine difference.
If you're looking for a role where you can build meaningful client relationships, enjoy working with a supportive team and focus on quality advice rather than sales, we'd love to hear from you.
