Seeking Field Manager

Background: Field Manager sought for New York State Assembly race.  This is for a progressive Democratic candidate in the Southern Tier of New York. The campaign will go until June 23 and possibly to November 3. 

This is a full-time, in-person position. Most of the work will take place on the weekends with early afternoon/evening shifts during the weekdays. The Field Manager will report to the Campaign Manager and be placed in a designated district in order to maximize voter turnout in the district. 

Roles/Duties: 

• Must know and understand VAN including how to create lists, cut turf and manage events.
• Recruit, train, and manage paid canvassers and volunteers for canvassing, phone banking and texting. 
• Hit goals on a weekly/daily basis and work well under pressure. 
• Should know and understand Scale to Win and Mobilize.
• Door-to-door voter outreach using Mini VAN
• Build up a strong understanding of the area to turn out voters, particularly women, voters of color
• Provide daily/weekly reports of voter contact and volunteer recruitment data to the Campaign Manager
• Assist in the planning and recruiting for campaign events.

Requirements

• Must be comfortable engaging in meaningful conversation with BIPOC voters and volunteers from all ages, backgrounds, and experience.
• Positive attitude and prior canvassing experience preferred (paid, volunteer, or internship) 
• A background in VoteBuilder and MiniVan, Scale to Win and Moblize.
• Full availability for the last three weeks before the Primary election on June 23 is required. 
• Must be a strong trainer and coach
• Ability to work long and unusual hours - mostly weekends, early afternoons into the evenings.
• Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast paced environment.
