Pet Emergency Clinic and Referral Center is a leading 24/7 veterinary hospital serving the greater Spokane, Washington region. We are committed to providing exceptional emergency and specialty care to our patients while supporting the growth and well-being of our team. Our hospital is equipped with an ER/Critical Care Specialist and an Internal Medicine Specialist, along with on-site radiology services (Monday–Friday via Inland Empire Veterinary Imaging). Our veterinarians work in a collaborative, team-based environment alongside experienced Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs), veterinary assistants, and client care representatives all focused on delivering the highest level of care.
Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate Emergency Veterinarian to join our fast-paced and highly skilled team. In this critical role, you’ll diagnose and treat a wide range of emergency cases, ensuring each patient receives exceptional care and every client feels informed and supported. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, team-oriented environment, someone who stays calm under pressure, communicates effectively, and finds fulfillment in helping pets and their families during urgent moments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide immediate, thorough emergency and critical care to patients presenting with urgent or life-threatening conditions.
- Perform detailed physical exams, develop diagnostics and treatment plans, and manage cases efficiently and compassionately.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and assistants to ensure complete, timely, and excellent patient care.
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with clients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up plans.
- Contribute to improving team workflow, efficiency, and morale during all shifts.
- Mentor and train support staff to enhance skillsets and promote professional development.
- Maintain complete medical records in compliance with hospital policies and industry standards.
- Work closely with the ER criticalist and other specialists to manage complex cases and coordinate care.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Active or eligible veterinary license in the state of Washington.
- Previous experience in emergency medicine preferred, though mentorship opportunities are available for motivated candidates.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills in fast-paced settings.
- Compassionate communication style with both clients and colleagues.
- Ability to remain composed and effective under pressure.
- Dedication to ongoing professional learning and growth.
