Description
With over 35 years in business, we have built a reputation for referring highly qualified professionals for rewarding short and long-term independent contract opportunities.Our Clients are seeking Educational ASL Interpreters for deaf and hard of hearing students through accurate interpretation of spoken and signed communication, in accordance with the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP's)in the Georgetown, TX area and multiple neighboring campuses for the current 2026-2027 school year.
CLIENT HOURS
M-T 7:30a-3:30p & F 7:30a - 1:30p
SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
The Educational American Sign Language Interpreter is a trained professional who facilitates communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and others within an educational setting. Often, American Sign Language (ASL) is used to interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa, which ensures students have accommodations to classroom instruction, activities and learning discussions.
CLIENT'S REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
*Proficiency in American Sign Language
*Associates degree or Bachelors degree in interpreting, deaf studies or related field
*Texas State Board of Education Initial Sign Language Interpreter Certificate
*Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) certificate
*Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification
*Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
*Must be at least 18 years of age
