Description
Berger Hirschberg Strategies is seeking a deputy-level position to aid in the advancement and fundraising of many political and non-profit clients . This position will be responsible for helping in the development and implementation of comprehensive fundraising plans for several clients, planning and executing low and high dollar events, working on donor research and prospecting, and assisting with call time. This role encompasses database upkeep, analysis, reporting, cleansing, and training while supporting all donor and gift recording and acknowledgment functions essential to the team. This opportunity provides hands-on experience in the field of fundraising. Candidates must be hard working, very organized, have the ability to multitask/work under pressure, and work independently. This position is based in DC.
Expectations include:
Prepare background materials for clients
Staff and help organize fundraising events, both in DC and nationally
Help to execute and coordinate logistics for national trips
Manage and staff call time, as needed
Research and make phone calls
Keep accurate accounting of all incoming donations; manage deposits; follow-up with thank you, etc. IE: establish and maintain prospect tracking systems for key fundraising segments.
Ability to work with the client’s CRM and utilize it to enhance fundraising, relationships, and revenue sustainability
Develop and prepare reports on fundraising initiatives, goals, revenue, and donor activity
Reconcile gifts regularly Schedule regular database maintenance to eliminate duplicate and inconsistent entries
Provide top level customer service
Manage multiple client’s schedules and principal's schedules
Be able to work in a high-pressure campaign environment and can take constructive criticism
Work in conjunction with the treasurer and compliance staff of various organizations and campaigns; assist compliance staff with completion of campaign finance reports, as needed
Travel with the client

Requirements
Qualifications:
Ideal candidates have 1-2 years of previous campaign or fundraising experience
Donor prospecting and research experience preferred
Strong written and communication skills
Meticulous attention to detail, highly organized, and exceptional communication skills
Effective in teamwork and maintaining poise in all situations
Flexibility and ability to work multiple projects at once
Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast paced environment
Time management skills are an absolute must
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as needed.
