About the Company

Our client is a Hong Kong-based asset management firm with approximately USD 4 billion in Assets Under Management (AUM) . The firm is seeking an experienced Deputy COO to support its senior management team across operations, risk management, finance, governance and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities

1. Oversee risk management frameworks, including market risk, portfolio exposures and VaR monitoring.
2. Supervise fund operations, back-office functions, finance, FRR and regulatory reporting.
3. Strengthen corporate governance, internal controls and operational risk management frameworks.
4. Review portfolio risks and risk management practices in collaboration with the investment team.
5. Manage relationships with fund administrators, auditors, professional advisers and external service providers.
6. Support regulatory matters and liaise with the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).
7. Lead and develop the Operations team, ensuring effective delivery across key functions.
8. Act as a senior deputy to the COO, providing leadership, operational oversight and business continuity during their absence.

Requirements

1. 12-15 years of experience in asset management, hedge funds, fund management or a similar investment environment.
2. Existing SFC Type 4 and Type 9 Responsible Officer experience is highly preferred.
3. Strong knowledge of risk management, VaR, fund operations, finance and Financial Resources Rules (FRR).
4. Solid understanding of Hong Kong's regulatory framework, particularly SFC requirements.
5. Proven experience in governance, internal controls and operational risk management.
6. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with investment professionals and senior management.
7. Previous experience managing or leading an operations function is preferred.
