Description
The Children’s Choirs of St. Mark’s is an expanding program of approximately 40 children in age-appropriate choirs. The program is dedicated to nurture the love of music through music education and worship.
Job Description:
- Preparation and leading of one rehearsal per week on Sunday morning
- Individual voice lessons for advanced singers in older choir groups once per week on Sunday morning
- Conduct performances in services and smaller concerts
- Foster and develop enthusiasm in children for music
- Substitute for Children’s Choir director if necessary
The Children’s Choir Assistant Director will:
- Work in close partnership and report to the Children’s Choir Director
- Develop and execute musical program for the assigned children’s choir group
- Create a schedule and communicate with parents
Status: $800/month, no benefits
Work hours: 10 months, mid-August - mid-June. Sunday mornings, typically 11:00 AM – 01:00 PM; once per month 8:30-10:30 AM, with some exceptions. Chaperone for choir camp on Memorial Day weekend (Friday – Monday) plus one Saturday retreat to be determined.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in music or music education (or in-progress)
- Previous experience working with children's groups
- Kodaly level I or higher preferred
