About Boys to Men Mentoring
Founded in San Diego in 1996, Boys to Men Mentoring is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping teenage boys build healthy relationships, resilience, confidence, accountability, and a positive vision for their future.
Our mission is to build communities of male role models who, through consistent group mentoring, encourage and empower teenage boys to follow their dreams.
Through school-based and community mentoring programs, Boys to Men provides young men with safe, supportive environments where they can connect with positive adult male role models. The organization currently serves students across 40 school districts and aims to expand to 100 school districts throughout San Diego County in the next few years.
As Boys to Men enters its fourth decade, the organization is seeking a visionary, mission-driven CEO to lead its next chapter of growth, impact, and organizational development.
Position Overview
The CEO will work closely with the Co-Founders, who will serve as co-managing directors for a period of no more than 24 months, then continue on an as needed basis. This transition period is intended to ensure a thoughtful and effective transfer of the organization’s culture, history, relationships, and institutional knowledge to the new CEO.
During this period, the CEO will also serve as the organization’s primary ambassador and relationship leader, working closely with the Board of Directors, staff, mentors, school partners, donors, and broader community stakeholders. The CEO will cultivate and strengthen these relationships while establishing trust, continuity, and long-term leadership for the organization.
The CEO will translate the organization's mission and strategic vision into measurable results while preserving the authenticity and core principles of the Boys to Men model. This leader will strengthen financial sustainability, expand school and community partnerships, support program quality, and build the organizational capacity needed for long-term growth.
