- Assistant Professor of Biochemistry

Case Western Reserve University, Department of Biochemistry is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill a full-time, permanent, 12-month faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. This is a non-tenure-track position, whose duties will be teaching, advising, and supporting the education mission of the Department.
Responsibilities and Duties: Serve as course director for at least one course each semester and contribute to other team-taught courses or education programs each semester. Advise undergraduate students in course selection for their programs of study, research opportunities, and career planning. Work closely with faculty colleagues in Biochemistry and the vice chair for education to update the curriculum and develop new courses if necessary. Maintain office hours for advising and aiding students. Help oversee and maintain shared departmental resources for teaching undergraduate and M.S. students.

The annual starting base salary range for this position is from $80,000-95,000. CWRU considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. Requirements
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in biochemistry, chemistry, biology, or related field. Previous experience in teaching undergraduate biochemistry in the United States for at least one year as an instructor of record, with expertise in metabolism required. Excellent written and oral communication skills necessary. Must be eligible to work in the United States.
