Overview

Heritage Bay Golf & Country Club is seeking a motivated, professional, and service-oriented Seasonal Assistant Golf Professional to join our Golf Operations team for the 2026-2027 season.

This position provides an excellent opportunity for an aspiring PGA Professional to gain hands-on experience in both inside golf shop operations and outside golf operations at a busy private golf and country club.

The Seasonal Assistant will work approximately five days per week, with two days focused on Golf Shop/Inside Operations and three days focused on Outside Services. The position will work closely with the Head Golf Professional and the entire Golf Operations team to provide an exceptional experience for Heritage Bay members and their guests.

Experience Required

The ideal candidate will:

• Have a strong interest in pursuing a career as a PGA Golf Professional.
• Be enrolled in the PGA program or have comparable golf industry experience.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Possess a strong commitment to member service and hospitality.
• Be dependable, punctual, energetic, and willing to work as part of a team.
• Have a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in a fast-paced golf environment.
• Be willing to perform the physical duties associated with outside golf operations.
• Have a working knowledge of the game of golf and basic golf rules and etiquette.
• Previous Golf Shop, outside operations, tournament, or country club experience is preferred.

Essential Responsibilities

Golf Shop / Inside Operations - 2 Days Per Week

Responsibilities will include:

• Greet and assist members and guests in a professional and welcoming manner.
• Operate the Golf Shop sales counter and assist with merchandise sales.
• Answer telephone calls and assist members with questions and requests.
• Assist with tee time scheduling and daily golf operations.
• Explain and assist members with golf policies, rules, and procedures.
• Assist with the coordination and execution of tournaments, leagues, and special events.
• Assist with receiving, displaying, organizing, and promoting golf merchandise and hardgoods.
• Assist with inventory control and periodic physical inventory counts.
• Assist with demo days and other golf-related promotional events.
• Assist with golf clinics and private instruction, if applicable and appropriate.
• Assist with club repair and other Golf Shop services as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional Golf Shop environment.
• Provide outstanding member service and contribute to a positive club experience.

Outside Operations - 3 Days Per Week

Responsibilities will include:

• Provide a warm and professional welcome to members and guests arriving for golf.
• Retrieve, stage, and load golf bags for daily and tournament play.
• Stage and prepare golf carts for member and guest use.
• Clean and maintain golf carts throughout the day.
• Replenish cart supplies.
• Set up and maintain the driving range and practice facilities.
• Assist members and guests with their golf equipment and other needs.
• Maintain an organized and professional bag storage area.
• Assist with tournaments, leagues, and special events.
• Monitor and maintain the overall appearance and organization of the golf operation.
• Work closely with the Golf Professional staff and other outside operations personnel to ensure an efficient daily operation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Golf or Outside Operations Supervisor
