Description
OverviewThe Assistant Golf Professional will assist with the management of daily golf operations in an effort to provide patrons with an exceptional golf experience. Responsibilities will include managing and tracking play, protecting and controlling assets, assisting with all merchandising functions, assisting with managing of leagues and tournaments, supervising hourly staff, teaching lessons, and upholding the policies set by MGMCO and the City of Overland Park.
Essential Responsibilities
- Report to the General Manager, Head Golf Professional and/or Director of Golf
- Supervise and manage the total golf operations in a professional and efficient manner
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times, providing excellent customer service, professional advice and assistance to all patrons/customers.
- Be informed on, and promote all clubhouse activities and services, and enforce all golf course directives, rules and regulations
- Ensure all customers are greeted and welcomed by staff in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner.
- Manage and train, with high expectations all subordinate personnel in all facets of the operations
- Control and manage play; ensure check-in and collection in coordination with the starter
- Assist in maintaining proper pace of play standards through supervision and coordination of Ready Golf Volunteers
- Manage the USGA handicap program
- Assist in managing leagues, tournaments and outings through Golf Genius software program
- Assist in receipt, display, inventory control, promotion and sales of merchandise
- Provide instruction to all players during acceptable times
- Assist instructional staff with group programs and instruction
- Attend staff meetings as scheduled by General Manager
- Assist in maintaining all opening and closing procedures are followed, ensuring that daily operation reviews are completed
- Have reliable, consistent and timely communication with customers and staff
- Assist in hiring, scheduling and supervising of part-time staff in conjunction with managing labor expenses according to budget
- Actively pursue Class A PGA Membership and show visible progress each year in the PGA Associate Program
