Description
OverviewThe Links at Kahite is seeking a motivated, professional, and service-oriented Assistant Golf Professional to support the daily operation of the golf facility. This position works closely with the Head Golf Professional and golf operations team to provide exceptional experience for Tellico Village members and their guests.
The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of golf operations, excellent communication skills, and a genuine commitment to customer service. This is a hands-on position involving golf shop operations, tournament administration, merchandising, instruction, staff supervision, and daily interaction with members and guests.
This is a 5 day, 40-hour per week position.
About The Links at Kahite
The Links at Kahite is one of Tellico Village's three championship golf facilities. The course provides a scenic and challenging golf experience while serving active membership and hosting tournaments, leagues, outings, and community events throughout the year.
The Assistant Golf Professional plays an important role in maintaining the high level of service, organization, and professionalism expected throughout Tellico Village Golf.
Experience Required
- Golf Genius tournament software experience.
- PGA Associate status - Level 1, 2, or 3.
- Knowledge of golf terminology, etiquette, tournament procedures, and the Rules of Golf.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. • Ability to remain professional and composed in a busy, member-focused environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle cash, credit-card transactions, and point-of-sale responsibilities accurately.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn tee-time, tournament, handicap, and point-of-sale software.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
Essential Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, professional, and attentive service to members and guests. • Assist with the daily opening and closing of the golf shop and golf operation. • Check in golfers, collect applicable fees, and accurately process point-of-sale transactions.
- Answer questions regarding tee times, memberships, events, course policies, and golf operations.
- Assist with managing tee sheets, player check-in, pairings, and daily course activity. • Monitor pace of play and help ensure golfers follow established course policies and procedures.
- Assist with the planning, organization, setup, scoring, and execution of tournaments, leagues, outings, and special events.
- Prepare tournament materials, including scorecards, cart signs, pairings, scoreboards, and results.
- Assist with golf shop merchandising, receiving, pricing, displaying, inventory control, and maintaining an attractive retail environment.
- Promote golf shop merchandise, lessons, events, and other golf programs. • Provide individual and group golf instruction based on experience and qualifications.
- Assist with junior golf, clinics, member programs, and player-development activities. • Help supervise and provide directions to outside service staff.
- Ensure golf carts, practice facilities, bag-storage areas, and staging areas are maintained in a clean and organized condition.
- Communicate course conditions, cart restrictions, weather concerns, and operational updates to members, guests, and staff.
- Respond professionally to members' questions, concerns, and service issues. • Maintain knowledge of the Rules of Golf and assist with rules questions during tournaments and daily play.
- Support all Tellico Village golf facilities and departments when operational needs require.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Golf Professional or Director of Golf.
Scheduling Requirements
This position requires a flexible schedule based on the needs of the golf operation. The Assistant Golf Professional must be available to work:
- Early mornings and evenings
- Weekends and holidays
- Golf tournaments and special events

- Treat members, guests, coworkers, and vendors with courtesy and respect.
- Follow all Tellico Village policies, safety procedures, and operating standards.
- Represent The Links at Kahite and Tellico Village Golf in a positive and professional manner.
