Description

The Director of Church Engagement oversees pastoral and church community outreach efforts across Wisconsin. This individual is goal-oriented and committed to increasing the number of churches supported by the Care Community Model at Welcomed. 

Requirements

Schedule/Location:

• Flexible
• Hybrid schedule - Work location for "office work" will be remote, aside from in-person engagement opportunities and Welcomed sponsored events
• Generally during typical work hours; some evenings and weekends required (i.e. engagement opportunity happening on a weekend, or Welcomed sponsored event)

Responsibilities:

• Support Executive Director in maintaining current church connections
• Spearhead new strategy and set goals for 2025/2026 Church Outreach
• Secure new church partnerships
• Speak into workflow, messaging and materials specific to pastoral networking and connection; offer strategic and operational insight and oversight 
• Represent Welcomed in face-to-face church community and networking settings, interest events and meetings
• Seek out WI events and networking opportunities with pastoral leadership
• Create and carry out Welcomed led awareness events (in partnership with local social agencies)

Requirements:

• Aligns with our core values
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel the state of Wisconsin
• 5+ years experience within the nonprofit sector and/or faith-affiliated environments preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the areas of communications and community engagement/organizing
• Committed to continuing to learn about the WI Child Welfare system
• Comfortable interacting with a wide variety of Christian denominations
• Ability to exercise project management skills, problem solve independently and work collaboratively on a small team
• A self-starter who can anticipate needs before they arise
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Those with lived experience (foster care alumni, foster/adoptive parent, etc.) are encouraged to apply
• Be comfortable speaking in front of large and small groups
