LEVER Architecture is a mid-sized design practice known for excellence and innovation in mass timber construction. With offices in Portland, OR and Los Angeles, we partner with communities and institutions to create buildings that elevate the human experience.
We are seeking candidates to contribute to and grow with our award-winning studio dedicated to design, research, and impactful projects across many different scales, regions, and typologies. The firm brings international experience and design excellence to a diverse range of building types, including institutional, creative office, and multi-family housing, and is nationally recognized for technical innovation with mass timber.
The best candidates will have a demonstrated enthusiasm for design, good communication skills, and experience with construction documents and construction administration.
Responsibilities
Report directly to the Associate or Principal in charge
Produce diagrams, models, renderings, and drawings for internal study, design presentations, consultant coordination, or client presentations
Research and prepare presentation materials
Develop project documentation from schematic design through construction documents
Coordinate with various engineers and consultants as required for the successful completion of various phases of design
Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
3-6 years of professional architecture experience
Experience with industry standard design software, including Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, and Enscape, is required
Experience with institutional and/or corporate projects is preferred
Familiarity with zoning and building codes is a plus
Experience coordinating with engineers and consultants is a plus
Licensed Architect is a plus
Qualifications
Highly motivated, proactive, and passionate about design
Comfortable working independently and as a collaborative, productive member of a team
Well-organized and detail-oriented, with strong graphic and verbal communication skills
Must live or be willing to relocate to the Portland, OR area.
Work Environment
Full-time, Portland-based position
Hybrid schedule, in-office Monday–Thursday, remote on Friday
