Paid Canvasser - Team Wiener
Location: San Francisco, CA (canvassing citywide in CA-11)
Reports to: Canvassing Director
Compensation: $35/hour
Schedule: Part-time, minimum 3 shifts per week (2 hours per shift), with opportunities to pick up
additional hours based on campaign needs
Start Date: ASAP - applications reviewed on a rolling basis
Job Description Summary
Families for an affordable San Francisco, the coordinated campaign supporting Scott Wiener’s
congressional campaign, is hiring paid Canvassers to engage San Francisco voters directly at their
doors. Canvassers are the campaign’s face-to-face connection with the community, responsible for
sharing information about Scott Wiener’s candidacy, having meaningful conversations with voters,
and collecting data that helps the campaign target its outreach efforts. This is a great opportunity
for people who are outgoing, reliable, and passionate about local and national politics.
Responsibilities and Duties
Canvass assigned neighborhoods across San Francisco, going door-to-door to speak with voters
Deliver accurate, consistent talking points about Scott Wiener’s campaign and platform
Engage voters in respectful, persuasive conversations and answer basic questions about the
candidate
Record voter interactions and data accurately using the campaign’s canvassing app/tools (VAN
and MiniVAN)
Meet daily and weekly contact goals set by the Canvass Director and Field Director
Attend shift check-ins and trainings as required
Represent the campaign professionally and safely while in the field
Report any issues, concerns, or notable voter feedback to campaign staff
Hours and Schedule
Minimum commitment of 3 shifts per week, at 2 hours per shift
No maximum hours. Canvassers may pick up additional shifts based on availability and
campaign need
Shifts are available on weekdays, evenings, and weekends
Must be available to work weekends and after traditional work hours (evenings)
Pay Rate
$35 per hour, paid on a regular payroll schedule

Requirements
Required:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Reliable transportation to travel to canvassing locations across San Francisco
Availability to work weekends and evening shifts
Strong communication skills and comfort with face-to-face conversations with strangers
Ability to walk for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Reliable, punctual, and able to follow direction from campaign leadership
Preferred (a plus, not required):
Bilingual, especially Cantonese, Spanish, or other languages spoken in San Francisco
Previous experience in canvassing, organizing, field work, or political campaigns
