We are urgently seeking expressions of interest from adult Speech Pathologists to work, on a casual basis, as clinical educators in the La Trobe Communication Clinic and residential aged care settings. Casual clinical educators are required to support upcoming clinical placements for students studying in our Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Hons) and Masters of Speech Pathology courses. Placement dates vary dependent on length of placement (approximately 10 weeks at a time). Multiple opportunities available - commencing from early March 2026 through to December 2026.
The La Trobe Communication Clinic (LCC) is a teaching, learning and research clinic that provides speech pathology services to the community on the University campus at Bundoora. The clinic is student-led providing progressive scaffolding of student skills in speech pathology from novice to entry level students, interlinking with academic subjects, and enabling students to confidently attend external placements.
Clinicians will work with groups of students to provide evidence-based speech pathology services to adults presenting with speech, language and/or swallowing disorders.
Orientation to the LCC or the placement and the student program will be provided prior to the commencement of placement.
Clinicians will be required to attend an aged care setting weekly on the specified clinic day/s and support students' preparation for clinic remotely between sessions.
