Perform accounting for all investment accounts, including annuities and life insurance, and set up program codes for new annuities. Also, includes reporting for semi-annual investment committee meetings. Liaise with the Development Office.
Primary contact for endowments, including accounting and setting up program codes for new endowments.
Primary contact for Conference & Events, including accounting for Reardon events and summer camps. Perform weekly transfer entries for Registration Guru online camp payments.
Maintain fixed assets records, including recording additions and disposals of assets in the database.
Perform accounting for all real estate transactions, including preparation of the personal property tax return and the monitoring of the real estate tax and insurance payments. Liaise with the Physical Plant Department.
Maintain Internal Control documentation as well as perform testing to all controls established. Ensure correct documentation and controls throughout the university while monitoring changes.
Approve and post journal entries for Accounts Payable Specialist. Authorize AP Batches for Account Payable Specialist
Assist with month- and year-end closing, as well as monthly expense variance analysis.
Budget
Assist with preparation of annual institutional budget, answer budget questions as necessary and perform monthly budget review of assigned areas. Prepare budget reporting and analysis as required.
Assist with the preparation of the Annual Budget for real estate taxes, telephone, utilities, cell phone, & insurance.
Perform quarterly review of utilities budgets vs. actuals.
Share responsibility in approving and monitoring of requisitions for checks, purchase orders, and petty cash ($201 - $1,000).
Approve all grant and conference & event expenditures.
Approve non-Reardon related invoice request forms (accounts receivable transactions).
Reporting
Assist with preparation for annual audit; prepare schedules and worksheets for annual financial statement preparation for areas of responsibility; share in responsibility of supervising year-end closing and journal entry preparation.
Accounting and reporting for grants.
Requirements
A baccalaureate degree in accounting is required. Applicants with a related baccalaureate degree plus experience in a comparable Accounting position may be considered.
A minimum of one year related work experience is preferred, preferably in a non-profit or higher education environment.
A qualified candidate will also be able to demonstrate organizational and analytical skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, make independent decisions and communicate effectively.
Prior knowledge of PeopleSoft or other database administration with ability to easily learn and adapt to varying computer applications is strongly preferred.
