The University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy is seeking to hire a full-time (12-month appointment), non-tenure track faculty member with expertise in ambulatory care services. This faculty position will be hired at the level of assistant professor within the Department of Pharmacy Practice. Individuals in these positions will contribute to teaching, service, and scholarship, supporting the mission and vision of the University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy. Teaching responsibilities include experiential instruction at an assigned practice site, as well as didactic teaching on campus in team-taught longitudinal course series. Additional responsibilities include scholarship, academic service, professional & community service, and other duties as assigned. Faculty members are expected to develop and/or advance ambulatory care services at the UCHealth Family Medicine Center in Fort Collins, CO (1 hour south of Laramie), which has a long-standing relationship with the University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy. In addition, each faculty member would be incorporated into the teaching and services within the Poudre Valley Hospital/Fort Collins Family Medicine Residency program. Faculty members would be based remotely out of Fort Collins, CO, and spend the majority of their time at their assigned practice site. Faculty members would be expected to travel to the main campus in Laramie, WY, for didactic teaching and service activities that require a physical presence on campus. - UCHealth Family Medicine Center and Poudre Valley Hospital/Fort Collins Family Medicine Residency program in Fort Collins, CO (1-hour drive south of Laramie, WY) o https://www.uchealth.org/professionals/residencies/family-medicine-residency-program/ Established in 1946, the University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy just recently celebrated its 75th anniversary in pharmacy education. The School of Pharmacy is located on the main University of Wyoming campus in Laramie, WY, a beautiful area known for abundant sunshine and year-round recreational activities. Within the College of Health Sciences, it partners with training programs in nursing, communication disorders, social work, and kinesiology and health, as well as the WWAMI Medical Education program and Wyoming Institute for Disabilities to provide a wide-range of training opportunities across many disciplines. In addition to its four-year Doctor of Pharmacy program (the only PharmD program in the state of Wyoming), the School of Pharmacy also oversees its online M.S. in Health Services Administration program, and the UW-Casper Medical Laboratory Sciences program. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Precept and teach four-week Ambulatory Care I and II Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience blocks throughout the calendar year (average is two students per rotation block for six months out of the year) - Teach in the didactic setting on campus in team-taught courses during the academic year (Therapeutics course sequence, Clinical Pharmacokinetics, and Pharmacy Skills course sequence) - Advise pharmacy students - Engage in scholarly activity - Serve on school, college and university and professional society committees - Provide drug therapy management and direct patient care services for patients at an assigned family medicine clinic/practice site - Engage in education activities for medical residents within family medicine residency programs associated with assigned practice site
