Description

The Stanford Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Division announces a search for a Psycho-Oncologist to 
provide high quality care at the Stanford Cancer Center (SCC), a nationally recognized institution 
committed to expanding its specialty care services to respond to the unique needs of patients receiving 
cancer care. Applicants will work collaboratively with oncology social workers, palliative care, medical 
oncology, surgical oncology, and radiation oncology colleagues. This position is under the Clinician 
Educator (CE) Service Line. The Clinician Educator role is defined by engagement in clinical care and 
teaching that advances clinical medicine. Clinician Educators are also encouraged to engage in scholarly 
activities and/or perform in an administrative role.



Requirements

Ideal candidates will be expected to serve as a Consultation Liaison Psychiatry attending at Stanford 
Hospital & Clinics in addition to serving as a Psycho-Oncologist at the SCC. Teaching responsibilities 
include working with fellows, residents, and medical students. A commitment to interdisciplinary 
teamwork, including collaboration with advanced practice providers and social workers, and strong
communication skills are essential. Candidates are expected to be well-trained clinicians with both clinical 
and academic interests in the psychiatric and psychosocial aspects of cancer. Eligible candidates must 
hold an MD/DO degree (or equivalent), be ABPN board-certified or eligible in Psychiatry, and BC/BE in 
Consultation Liaison Psychiatry. Demonstrated record of interest or training in psycho-oncology is 
preferred. Participation in clinical research is optional but encouraged.
