Position Overview
United Way of Cascade County is seeking a collaborative and action-oriented Community Impact Lead to help drive meaningful change across our community. This role is for a leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy, partnership, and execution. Success looks like someone who can bring people together around shared goals and translate ideas into measurable results. Working across United Way’s focus areas of Youth Opportunity, Healthy Community, and Financial Security, the Community Impact Lead will help coordinate community-wide initiatives, build strong cross-sector relationships, and strengthen the systems that support lasting impact for local families.
This position is designed as a leadership development pathway to a future Director of Community Impact role.
Key Responsibilities
Community Impact Leadership
Coordinate and support collaborative initiatives aligned with United Way’s focus areas of Youth Opportunity, Healthy Community, and Financial Security.
Work closely with the CEO and board leadership to engage community leaders and diverse stakeholders in shared impact work.
Support the development and implementation of strategic work plans for community initiatives and coalitions.
Identify emerging community needs and opportunities that strengthen impact within priority focus areas.
Coalition & Partnership Development
Build and maintain strong relationships with nonprofit partners, government agencies, schools, businesses, and community leaders.
Facilitate meetings and collaborative efforts that move community initiatives toward measurable progress.
Engage and support volunteers and working groups involved in United Way initiatives.
Program Coordination & Systems Development
Maintain highly organized systems for tracking initiatives, partnerships, timelines, and deliverables.
Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring consistent communication among partners and stakeholders.
Help identify specialty areas of focus that will inform the development of future Community Impact team roles.
Evaluation & Impact Measurement
Support the development of indicators and measures that track progress toward community impact goals.
Coordinate reporting on initiative progress and outcomes for staff, board members, and stakeholders.
Assist with data collection and evaluation to inform strategy and decision-making.
Resource Development & Support
Assist in identifying funding opportunities aligned with United Way’s community initiatives.
Contribute to grant writing, grant management, and impact reporting when applicable.
Collaborate with development and marketing staff to communicate the story and outcomes of United Way’s impact work.
Community Engagement & Advocacy
Represent United Way in community meetings, partnerships, and collaborative initiatives.
Help raise awareness of community challenges and opportunities related to youth success, health, and financial stability.
Support engagement in local advocacy or policy discussions when aligned with United Way priorities.

Preferred Experience
While not required, experience in the following areas will strengthen a candidate’s application:
Grant writing, grant management, or grant reporting
Public policy, advocacy, or government relations
Community coalition leadership or facilitation
Nonprofit program management
Supervising staff, interns, or volunteers
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
Experience coordinating collaborative projects, initiatives, or partnerships
Ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with leadership and partners
Proficiency with standard office and project management software
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
