The Wellness clinician is responsible for developing and managing health and wellness initiatives across the Behavioral Health, Developmental, and Brain Injury Service Lines. This role focuses on promoting healthy lifestyles, coordinating wellness activities, and increasing participation in wellness programs. This role emphasizes whole-person wellness by addressing emotional, cognitive, physical, and social well-being through evidence-based clinical interventions, psychoeducation, motivation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement wellness programs focused on physical, mental, and emotional health
- Conduct needs assessments and analyze wellness data to identify areas of improvement
- Track participation rates and evaluate program effectiveness
- Works collaboratively with members and programs to design and implement individual and group wellness plans.
- The clinician supports individuals and facilitates groups around building skills that promote physical fitness, nutrition, stress reduction, self-care, smoking cessation, mind-body connection, among other wellness-related topics.
- Works independently in community settings with individual members, leading activities, and facilitating therapeutic groups
- Provides wellness training, monitoring, and reassessment of exercise, nutrition and healthcare commitments.
- Collaborates with the department leads to assess program needs and facilitate groups accordingly.
- Supports members focus on personal goals, providing encouragement, and participating in activities when support is needed
- Monitor progress toward treatment goals, encourages member participation and movement along the continuum of wellness related lifestyle changes and adjusts interventions as clinically indicated.
- Completes documentation in accordance with agency, state, and insurance billing standards.
- Helps plan and facilitate quarterly celebration/ recognition events for participants when applicable
- Assists in facilitation of team building activities.
- Builds and maintains positive relationships with community partnerships
- Works with members to identify and establish wellness support system
- Maintain wellness activity calendar that addresses physical, emotional, and social health for programs.
- Assists in training and supervision of new wellness mentors, interns and volunteer mentors.
- Attends and actively participates in all supervisions and staff meetings.
- Attend trainings as assigned; maintain necessary certifications and licenses
- Maintain professional, pleasant, approachable and helpful demeanor at all times
- Ensure all paperwork, reports, trainings are up to date and completed within the Divisions expected timelines.
- Ensure that clients are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates Human Rights Policy and the Advocates Way.
- Perform all duties in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures.
- Strictly follow all agency Performance Standards.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling
- Group facilitation experience preferred, particularly wellness or skills-based groups
- Familiarity with holistic wellness models
- Understanding of how nutrition and exercise affect both physical and emotional health
- Strong computer knowledge.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team oriented environment.
- Strongly prefer a candidate that will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations
- Experience working collaboratively with one or more individuals to help accomplish a goal or behavior change
- Ability to read and write English and communicate effectively in the primary language of the program to which he/she is assigned
- Strong organizational skills, proven ability to manage own schedule with clients and group commitments.
- Proven ability to maintain a balance of direct care and documentation expectations.
- Must have valid driver’s license and access to an insured auto.
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- High energy level, superior interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team atmosphere.
