A global investment management firm is seeking an experienced VP, Product Development Manager to join its Asia Pacific product team. This role can be based in either Singapore or Hong Kong and will play a key part in shaping product strategy and development across the APAC ex‑Japan region.

The position offers the opportunity to work closely with global product teams, senior management, and regional distribution colleagues, while overseeing one team member based in Hong Kong. This is a high‑visibility role suited for a proactive product professional with strong cross‑border stakeholder engagement experience.

Role Overview
The successful candidate will support the end‑to‑end lifecycle of the firm's regional product agenda-including product design, business case development, market analysis, competitor benchmarking, regulatory considerations, and commercial positioning. The role requires close collaboration with global investment teams, regional sales leaders, operations, risk, and compliance to ensure that products are structured, launched, and maintained to meet evolving investor demand across the region.

This individual will also contribute to broader strategic initiatives, helping to shape the firm's APAC product roadmap and ensuring alignment with commercial priorities across institutional, intermediary, and private wealth channels.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the development of new products and strategies from initial concept, market research, and business case preparation through to launch.
• Conduct market intelligence and competitor analysis to identify product opportunities, trends, and gaps in the regional offering.
• Partner with global and regional stakeholders to align product proposals with commercial objectives and regulatory expectations.
• Oversee the ongoing review of existing products to ensure competitiveness in terms of positioning, pricing, and performance.
• Monitor regulatory developments across APAC markets that may impact product design, distribution, or lifecycle management.
• Contribute to strategic planning for the region's product pipeline and support senior leadership in key prioritization discussions.
• Supervise and mentor a junior product professional based in Hong Kong.
• Prepare and deliver presentations, product proposals, and analysis to internal committees and senior stakeholders.
• Support risk management processes related to product development and governance.

Requirements

• Strong experience in product development or product management within an asset management firm.
• Expertise in mutual funds (e.g., UCITS, SICAVs) is essential; exposure to private markets or alternative investment structures is a strong advantage.
• Proven ability to manage complex cross‑functional projects and collaborate with global product, distribution, and investment teams.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and work effectively with demanding sales teams.
• Fluency in Mandarin is required due to frequent engagement with stakeholders in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China offshore markets.
• Broad understanding of the APAC asset management landscape, regulatory environment, and distribution channels.
• University degree required; professional qualifications (e.g., CFA) are beneficial.
