OverviewPGA Learning Center Instructor at Crystal Mountain Resort

Crystal Mountain Resort-a semi-private, architecturally iconic Northern Michigan destination community founded by the MacInnes family is nestled against panoramic mountain views with a modern family community design. Located just south of Traverse City, in Thompsonville Michigan, the resort is one of the most aesthetically distinctive clubs in Northern Michigan. We take pride in delivering an elevated member/guest experience rooted in genuine hospitality and courtesy.
The Position | The Golf Instructor is responsible for promoting, scheduling, and conducting golf instructional programs that meet the demands and needs of the Resorts members & guests.
Experience Required
- A bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; and/or 2 years of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
- Current PGA member or associate in good standing
Essential Responsibilities
- Promote and deliver effective coaching for guests, juniors, and other interested parties, ensuring that participants' needs are identified, coaching sessions are planned and delivered to develop participants' performance, and the effectiveness of sessions is evaluated and reviewed.
- Promote and deliver golf events and clinics that generate new participants, and new customers, or which grow the amount of golf played by established golfers.
- Events and clinics must be coordinated in advance with the Director of Golf.
- Provide a menu of instructional programs that are attractive to all levels of golfers.
- Develop a marketing plan to generate lesson revenue with a focus on repeat clients at the golf course.
- Utilize state-of-the-art teaching and learning theories and be able to integrate the use of teaching aids, including the latest technology, when appropriate.
- Ensure that customers consistently receive the high standards of coaching expected.
- Actively participate in networking opportunities, developing links with external agencies (local schools, clubs, businesses, etc.) to promote the game of golf and the resort to potential new members and golf participants.
- Develop the facility's reputation of consistently delivering high-quality coaching, custom fitting, and service.
- Maintain a high level of professional visibility with members & guests of the club.
- Attend meetings scheduled by the management team when requested.
- Provide summaries of lessons and billing information to management.
- Ensure that all lesson/clinic/camp revenue is entered and accounted for in the resorts point-of-sale software.
- Ensure that the practice facility is professionally maintained and that safe, clean, organized, and professional conditions exist throughout the day.
- Maintain a high level of playing ability and represent the resort in local and sectional events when the schedule permits.
- Other duties assigned by the Director of Golf.

Hourly lesson Rate:
- $120.00 - 20% to the resort 80% is retained by instructor
- Golf School compensation ranges start @ $225
- Note: Weekly comp rates are estimated and will be solely based on candidates ability to engage guests/students and leverage tools and facility for the benefit of clients, the Resort and themselves.
