- Survey Field Intern
Description
Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (District) has an exciting opportunity for an emerging professional that will assist in providing survey services for the District on capital and operations & maintenance (O&M) projects in the planning, design and construction phases. The intern will achieve proficiency in construction survey techniques in the field. This understanding will coincide with its requisite operational aptitude of current survey technology. Furthermore, the intern will gain an appreciation for the means and methods in which engineering design and construction data are acquired, as well as the concomitant limitations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will support survey crews on a variety of field and office projects. Responsibilities include assisting with the use of geodetic and cadastral surveying methods to collect, analyze, and provide accurate data to project stakeholders. The intern will also support CAD projects by preparing and updating drawings, processing survey data, and assisting with plan production. Additional duties include helping ensure data quality, supporting project documentation, and contributing to efficient project execution.
Requirements
Applicants should be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, or a closely related field, or an associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related discipline. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an interest in geospatial and surveying practices.
Supplemental Information:
This 12-week summer internship is full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:00 A.M. – 3:30 P.M.
