Description

The Index School District seeks a superintendent to support our students and families in Index and the surrounding rural areas in the Skykomish Valley. This is a 0.43 FTE position with compensation to be commensurate to other rural Western Washington school districts of similar size. Requirements

Professional Qualifications

• Experience as a School Principal or Superintendent with current administrator certificate 
• Experience developing and implementing strategic, long-term plans that are responsive to the needs of students and families 
• Effective and transparent communication with the School board, staff, and community
• Strong instructional leadership skills with the ability to effectively evaluate and mentor staff 
• Ability to align school-wide procedures and practices with the district’s mission and vision by holding staff accountable for striving toward the shared goals
• Expertise in school finance, budgeting and grant applications that ensures long-range facilities planning and maintenance
• Adoption of curricula that aligns with best practices for student learning
• Knowledge of legislative issues and ability to advocate for district needs
