Role and Responsibilities
SEMCOG is seeking a professional to support procurement, contract administration, and grant management activities while ensuring compliance with SEMCOG policies and applicable federal and state regulations. This role coordinates competitive bid processes, maintains contract and grant documentation, reviews cost proposals and invoicing for compliance with contract terms, and prepares grant billing and reimbursement requests.
The position works closely with internal staff, vendors, and funding agencies to support grant-funded programs, including monitoring subrecipients, maintaining grant records, and compiling documentation for audits and fiscal year-end reporting. The role also serves as the organization’s FOIA liaison, coordinating responses to public information requests.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of procurement processes, grant administration, and accounting and budgeting practices, along with excellent organizational and communication skills. Total Compensation Estimate = $134,662*

Since its inception in 1968, SEMCOG has acted as a regional planning partner with local governments in the seven-county Southeast Michigan region, which is made up of Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, Washtenaw, and Wayne Counties. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in contract administration and regulatory compliance, including writing and administering RFPs, reviewing cost proposals, and project management.
- Knowledge of Accounting practices, grant preparation and administration.
- Organization and time management skills, ability to coordinate the work of others, attention to detail, prepare clear and concise reports, capable of working on multiple tasks and meeting timelines, and ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with internal and external individuals.
- Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills required, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
