Description
This position is involved with the day-to-day Ultrasound Department operations located within Diagnostic Imaging. The sonographer requires minimal supervision, performs diagnostic medical sonograms, provides quality patient care, and assumes responsibility for all ultrasound services offered. This position works closely and communicates effectively with patients, coworkers, lead sonographer, manager, Radiologists, providers, and all other clinic staff to ensure the highest quality of care to our patients.
Requirements
Degree from a school in Diagnostic Medical Sonography accredited through the Joint Review Committee on Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRCDMS) and the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) OR current certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) AND completion of a certificate Sonography program accredited through the JRCDMS and CAAHEP.
Current active certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in Abdomen and OB/Gyn specialties and in good standing with CME requirements, OR registry eligible and successful completion of the ARDMS Physics, Abdomen, and OB/Gyn board exams within first 6 months of employment.
Current active certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in Vascular Technology and in good standing with CME requirement, OR registry eligible and successful completion of the ARDMS Vascular Technology (RVT) board exam within first year of employment.
Current BLS certification required or obtained within 90 days of start date.
Excellent communication skills required.
