THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO REMOTE AND HYBRID CANDIDATES IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA (SAN DIEGO, ORANGE COUNTY, LOS ANGELES)
At-Will Employment: This position is an at-will employee position.
Exempt Position: This position is an exempt salaried position.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Relations
- Strategically lead multiple clients’ business objectives, projects and deadlines autonomously, ensuring KPIs and goals are consistently met across clients.
- Serve as the go-to, day-to-day contact across clients, providing exceptional client service.
- Proactively anticipate client needs and questions.
- Resolve client concerns quickly and effectively with minimal direction.
- Ensure all client emails/requests are addressed strategically and in a timely fashion.
- Foster overall strong, positive relationships with clients.
- Stay apprised of clients’ brands, products/services and industries to serve as a knowledgeable resource.
- Present creative and out-of-the-box ideas to clients that resonate with their goals.
- Ensure meeting agendas are fully updated and sent to clients a day in advance of status calls.
- Lead client calls effectively and with minimal support from the account strategist or vertical lead.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual client reports, ensuring accuracy and excellence.
- Prepare and review quarterly plans, including PR, influencer and social slides, as applicable.
- Serve as an industry expert on media, influencers and social media, as applicable, for clients.
Integrated PR Strategy and Execution
Public Relations:
- Draft, review and distribute media materials, including press releases, media advisories, contributed articles, briefing books, blogs and more, ensuring all client materials meet quality expectations
- Develop media lists and build relationships with hot list reporters.
- Secure ongoing coverage on behalf of clients, consistently meeting at least 85% of personal placement goals and KPIs.
- Secure and facilitate media stays and interviews for clients.
- Develop and review editorial and awards calendars, and ensure clients are submitted for all relevant timely opportunities.
- Track media results, hot list and feature story progress on a regular basis and ensure client success.
- Build out and advise on thought leadership strategies for clients; draft and submit contributed articles, commentary and other fitting content.
- Work closely with media and account support teams to deliver on client KPIs.
Influencer Marketing:
- Ensure influencer marketing strategy and content aligns with clients’ business goals, success metrics and brand.
- Guide and strategize with the influencer lead to secure paid and trade partnerships for clients.
- Manage and negotiate influencer budgets and contracts.
- Negotiate paid and trade partnership agreements with influencers and ensure terms of such agreements are met by both parties.
- Understand and be able to report on results from influencer activations.
Social Media:
- Ensure social media strategy and content aligns with clients’ business goals, success metrics and brand.
- Understand and be able to speak to social strategy and analytics.
- Build out social copy, where appropriate to support the team.
- Ensure proper understanding and communication of clients’ brand voice.
Team Management
- Ensure account teams understand what success looks like for each client.
- Coach junior team members.
- Ensure account teams are properly performing their duties in a timely manner and provide feedback, as necessary.
- Serve as an expert resource on industry trends and recommend responsive steps for the team.
- Work with the social and influencer teams to amplify media coverage, ensure consistent messaging, and more, as applicable.
Planning and Reporting
- Develop strategic ROI-focused integrated PR plans that accurately reflect client priorities and goals.
- Deliver high-quality quarterly and/or monthly reports to clients that showcase ROI.
- Deliver weekly recaps to clients, as needed.
- Receive minimal to no edit requests from strategists and vertical leads on plans and reports.
Administrative Tasks
- Ensure internal dashboards, client-facing trackers, etc. are always up to date.
- Develop and track client KPIs, leveraging dashboards, scorecards and other tools.
- Update meeting agendas, weekly/monthly recaps, etc.
- Review and/or draft action items following client calls and appropriately assign tasks to account teams.
Partnership Identification and Outreach
- Support Crowe PR business development process with deck preparation and presentations.
- Represent the agency in local business and public relations and marketing communities.
- Identify target clients for Crowe PR and contact when appropriate.
Other
- Act as the liaison between senior management and junior staff to keep senior staff updated on client matters and ensure that junior staff are properly performing their duties.
- Proactively support the senior management team with needs, projects, etc.
- Guide junior team members through their day-to-day tasks, insuring the production of quality work for clients.
- Lead and actively participate in internal brainstorms and department meetings.
- Assist in interviewing, onboarding and training new team members, as needed.
- Track client service hours daily in Harvest.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
- 5+ years of public relations and/or integrated marketing agency experience, including media relations and influencer marketing, with at least 3 years of experience in a management role.

- Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a similar field preferred but not required.
- A natural team leader with a proven record of articulating team purpose and priorities
Excellent oral and written communication skills and knowledge of AP Style. - Self-starter, who can complete tasks with little direction and can independently problem-solve based on a combination of experience and research.
- Displays utmost professionalism and grace internally and externally, with clients, partners, etc.
- A positive, analytical, and creative mindset to be used in identifying and approaching challenges, inefficiencies, and ineffective processes with a solution-oriented mindset.
- An active listener, someone who reads people and those in a room well (and adapts their style and response accordingly).
- Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple client projects and deadlines across teams.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment through flexibility, resilience and a positive outlook.
- Detail-oriented, punctual and cognizant of deadlines, including the ability to foresee challenges preventing completion of assignments on time and communicates this with the team in advance.
- Experience with journalist databases, influencer, social and reporting tools.
- Proficient at Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Power Point and Word.
- Excellent organizational skills.
