Under general supervision, this position functions as a front-line provider of services in the maintenance of the Town's parks, trails, open space, and urban forestry areas.
*This position performs duties deemed to be safety sensitive. Employees holding this position participate in pre-employment and random drug testing under Town’s policies*

Assists with day-to-day labor services and maintenance in any combination of the following areas: general maintenance, horticulture, turfgrass, athletic operations, mowing, irrigation, trail, open space, and tree and shrub.
Assists with set up, tear down, and general custodial duties for special events.
Operates and maintains assigned equipment; makes minor mechanical adjustments of the same.
Maintains records of assignments completed.
Performs snow removal of parking lots, sidewalks, and trails, as needed.
Provides traffic control by flagging and setting appropriate devices, as needed.
Complies with all organizational values, policies procedures.
Works flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Additional Information
Hiring Range: $20.81-$24.45
Full Salary Range: $20.81-$28.09

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, certification and/or licensure required. An equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential duties and meet the necessary employment standards may be considered.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Possession of a valid Driver's License issued by the State of Colorado for the type of vehicle or equipment operated; safe driving record and a minimum of two (2) years of driving history.

Ability to perform assigned work independently with direction .
Ability to adhere to all applicable work safety rules, procedures and equipment operations as presented.
Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions and report operations both verbally and in written form.
Ability to operate small/light equipment, such as power tools.
Ability to operate heavy equipment.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with other staff and the public.
Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.

Tools & Equipment
Requires use of general office equipment such as computers, printers, telephones, and related software. Use of specialized tools or equipment may also be necessary, including but not limited to technical devices, mechanical tools, heavy equipment, machinery, public-safety-related items, or other industry-specific systems. If required by the position, the employee may operate a personal or Town-owned vehicle.
General and Sensory Requirements
The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls. Duties may also require stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing stairs or ladders, and maintaining balance. The employee must be able to talk and hear effectively, both in person and over the phone, and must be capable of operating a vehicle if required by the role. Vision requirements include consistent near and far visual acuity, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus to allow a broad field of vision.
Heavy Physical Demands
This position requires sustained and demanding physical activity. The employee must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to fifty (50) pounds frequently and more than one hundred (100) pounds occasionally with assistance.
Environment
Physical presence onsite is required. Work is primarily performed in outdoor field settings but employees holding this position may work in varied indoor and outdoor locations. The noise level varies depending on activities or location. This position frequently requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions and occasionally involves work in inclement weather, including extreme heat, cold, wind, or precipitation. Employees in this position may be exposed to fumes, odors, dust, or airborne particles, be required to work at heights of up to forty (40) feet, work in proximity to moving mechanical parts or machinery, and handle potentially hazardous materials or biological substances.
