Job Overview
Assumes responsibility for supporting UAMPS’ Integrated Resource Planning (IRP) activities, including coordination of planning inputs, consultant oversight, and preparation of member-facing planning materials. Serves as a liaison between internal teams, consultants, and member utilities to ensure accurate, transparent, and actionable long-term resource planning information.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assumes responsibility for IRP coordination and execution.
- Coordinates IRP schedules, deliverables, and data requests with consultants and internal teams.
- Reviews consultant deliverables for clarity, completeness, and alignment with UAMPS objectives.
- Maintains planning assumptions and documentation across planning cycles.
- Assumes responsibility for member data collection and forecasting support.
- Collects and validates annual member load and resource forecasts.
- Coordinates follow-up with members to ensure data accuracy.
- Supports preparation of aggregated and member-level planning summaries.
- Assumes responsibility for preparation of planning documentation and reports.
- Assists in preparation of IRP reports, appendices, and supporting documentation.
- Supports development of the UAMPS Resource Procurement Plan.
- Assists in preparation of the UAMPS Annual Purchase Plan and EDAM-related compliance documentation.
- Assumes responsibility for member communication and support.
- Prepares member-facing presentations and briefing materials.
- Supports member committee meetings and workshops.
- Serves as a point of contact for routine member inquiries related to IRP.
- Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
- Remains informed of trends in utility planning, forecasting, and regulatory requirements.
Performance Measurements
- Annual load and resource forecasts are accurately collected and validated.
- Planning documents and reports are complete, timely, and clearly presented.
- Member communication is clear and responsive.
- IRP coordination activities support successful planning cycles.
Additional Details
This position follows UAMPS’ hybrid work policy and requires a minimum of three days per week in the office (Monday-Wednesday).

Requirements
Education/Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, finance, statistics, energy systems, public policy, or related field.
Required Knowledge
Understanding of utility planning principles and resource forecasting.
Knowledge of IRP concepts including scenario analysis and cost/risk metrics.
Required Experience
2-4 years of experience in utilities, energy, public power, consulting or related analytical role.
Required Skills/Abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced Excel proficiency.
Strong organizational and coordination abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting utility planning, integrated resource planning, power supply, or regulatory processes.
Experience with accessing and utilizing large database energy data – querying and assembling raw data that can be utilized to find trends and as inputs to energy models.
Familiarity with IRP concepts such as scenario analysis, resource screening, and cost/risk metrics.
Experience with planning or modeling tools (e.g., PLEXOS, Aurora, Strategist).
Experience with market participation or compliance-related planning (e.g., EDAM).
